Introduction
Solomon Training Ltd needs to keep certain personal data, for example about its staff and learners, to fulfil its purpose and to meet its legal obligations to funding bodies and government. To comply with the law, information must be collected and used fairly, stored safely and not disclosed to any other person unlawfully. To do this, Solomon Training Ltd is registered under the Data Protection Act with number Z7905946 and must comply with the Data Protection Principles which are set out in the Data Protection Act, 1998.
Principles
The information to be contained in personal data shall be obtained, and personal data shall be processed fairly and lawfully.
Personal data shall be held for one or more specified and lawful purposes.
Personal data held for any purpose shall not be used or disclosed in any manner incompatible with that purpose or those purposes.
Personal data held for any purpose or purposes shall be adequate, relevant and not excessive in relation to that purpose or purposes.
Personal data shall be accurate and where necessary, kept up to date. Personal data held for any purpose shall not be kept for longer than is necessary for that purpose or purposes.
An individual shall be entitled to be informed by any data user whether he holds personal data of which that individual is the subject, and shall be entitled to access to any such data held by a data user at reasonable intervals, without undue delay or expense. Where appropriate, an individual shall be entitled to have such data erased or corrected.
Solomon Training Ltd and all its staff who process or use personal information must ensure that they follow these principles at all times. In order to ensure that this happens, Solomon Training Ltd has developed this Data Protection Policy.

All staff and learners are entitled to:
- Ask what information Solomon Training Ltd holds about them and why
- Ask how to gain access to it
- Be informed how to keep it up to date
- Be informed what Solomon Training Ltd is doing to comply with its obligations under the 1998 Data Protection Act
