Everyday Maths Skills - Common Measures (Level 2) PDF Print E-mail

This course looks at the skills and techniques you need to calculate more complex measurements of money, time, length, distance, weight, capacity, temperature, perimeter, area and volume.

You’ll learn how to convert money between currencies and how to calculate journey times. You’ll be shown how to read metric/imperial conversion graphs and how to use formulae to calculate the perimeter, area and volume of squares, rectangles and cuboids. And you’ll explore the special rules and techniques for calculating the circumference and area of circles.

As you move through the course, mini tests let you check that you’ve understood the learning and give you the chance to practise your new measuring skills in realistic, everyday situations.
