“The course has helped me a lot” -- James
Everyday Maths Skills - Handling Data (Level 1) PDF Print E-mail

This course will help you to understand and use the data presented in charts, diagrams and line graphs. You’ll learn how to collect your own data and how to present it in charts and graphs for other people to use.

It shows how tables can be used to compare information or products and how charts and diagrams can communicate complicated information more clearly. You’ll learn about different methods of collecting and recording data, and different ways of presenting it to your audience. Finally, you’ll learn about two types of averages - the mean and the range. The course explains what they are, when you should use them and how to calculate them.

As you move through the course, mini tests let you check that you’ve understood the learning and give you the chance to practise your new data handling skills in realistic, everyday situations.
