All around us are things we need to measure – the temperature of the oven, the amount of petrol we need to put in the car, the size of curtains we need to buy. Good measuring skills are essential in our lives and this course will help you get to grips with measurements. It concentrates on six important areas: money, time, length and distance, weight, capacity and temperature. You’ll follow Abby and her son Nathan as they carry out everyday measuring tasks. From adding and subtracting money to telling the time using the 24-hour clock, from measuring distance using a tape measure to weighing out the ingredients listed in a recipe, the course is packed with tips and techniques to help you measure more easily and more accurately. As you move through the course, mini tests let you check that you’ve understood the learning and give you the chance to practise your new measuring skills in realistic, everyday situations.
