Everyday English Skills - Vocabulary, Spelling & Grammar (Level 1) PDF Print E-mail

A good understanding of sentence structure, grammar and vocabulary is vital if we want to write correctly. This course will help you to improve the key skills you need to get your message across in a clear and professional way.

You’ll learn to recognise the boundaries between sentences and be shown how to improve your writing by using connectives to join simple sentences. You’ll see why it’s important to use the correct form and tense of the verb if you want your writing to make sense and you’ll learn how proper punctuation can make your text even clearer. You’ll develop new skills to help you read unfamiliar or specialist words and techniques to help you spell longer words.

As you move through the course, mini tests let you check that you’ve understood the learning and give you the chance to practise your new word skills in realistic, everyday situations.
